LLWT
Founded in 2009 by the Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, the Leech Lake Walleye Tournament was created to bring a premier, community-driven fishing event back to the legendary waters of Leech Lake. While fishing tournaments have been part of the lake’s rich history for decades, the Chamber established the LLWT as an annual fundraiser to support its mission of strengthening local businesses, promoting tourism, and investing in the future of the Leech Lake Area.
Now entering its 18th Annual Tournament in 2026, the event hosts 155 teams from across the region and beyond, making it one of the most recognized locally organized nonprofit walleye tournaments in the Midwest. The tournament not only celebrates the tradition of walleye fishing but also serves as a vital fundraiser supporting Chamber programs, community initiatives, and economic growth.
Built on tradition, community pride, and a passion for fishing, the Leech Lake Walleye Tournament continues to showcase the very best of Walker and the Leech Lake Area.
Legendary Lake. Legendary Fishing. Legendary Tradition.
